Distributions JRV is a leading distributor committed to simplifying and optimizing the supply chain for its industrial and commercial clients. JRV is undertaking a comprehensive overhaul of its cloud infrastructure and sought Videns’ expertise to implement a technical architecture. The goal is to develop visuals and dashboards to enhance customer experience, increase internal team autonomy, and improve analytical capabilities to measure activity impacts, all while accelerating decision-making.
The project’s main mission was to implement a data governance framework, build a solid business intelligence foundation, and deliver key business intelligence deliverables identified as priorities. This support also included assistance with implementing business intelligence solutions and data engineering.
The project structure, combining data governance, data architecture, and business intelligence (BI), required expertise in three distinct areas. These areas are challenging to master simultaneously in a small-to-medium enterprise (SME).
The advantage of this structure lies in the ability to achieve a return on investment in data governance quickly and provide significant added value to the client. A sprint-based approach was preferred to facilitate this process, allowing for rapid progress.
The MVP approach created a strong governance framework, ensuring optimal data management and improved integrity.
The development of customized dashboards with Power BI offered JRV’s key clients an in-depth view of their accounts, significantly enhancing their loyalty and satisfaction.
The collaboration streamlined the transition from the project team to the operational team, supporting the industrialization of the solution.
The project was executed in MVP (Minimum Viable Product) mode to stay focused on delivering tangible results quickly. Integration of JRV’s internal talents with the Videns team was emphasized.
For training and establishing governance practices, it was necessary to identify roles and responsibilities, set up a governance operating model, initiate governance committee activities, and build a data quality framework based on sales data.
Regarding the development of visualization tools, adequate data preparation and transformation were prerequisites. This involved developing extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) process and data storage process deemed useful for developing and deploying Power BI dashboards. This work is aligned with the priority assigned to data from various systems, including supply chain planning solutions and the ERP system.
In designing dashboards for end clients, priority Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) were targeted and integrated into specific visualization tools to meet each client’s needs. After deployment, Videns supported JRV to facilitate the transition from the project team to the operational team, aiding in the stabilization, monitoring, and continuity of operations.
