The Story of Videns

Videns was founded in 2018 by Sarah Legendre Bilodeau and Virginie Boivin, joined by a third partner, Laurent Barcelo. Videns is a certified Women Owned company and one of the few tech companies with majority female ownership on an international scale.

Moreover, Videns’ activities transcend borders. Since 2019, we have been active on the international stage, enjoying a strong reputation in Europe, where we have completed numerous projects, notably for Siradel, Covea, and the aerospace giant Airbus. We take great pride in showcasing the dynamic AI ecosystem of Quebec wherever we go.

Since November 2024, Videns has been B Corp certified for its practices addressing current societal challenges in social and environmental commitment, transparency, and legal responsibility.

Our commitment to our clients goes beyond delivering a model. We are honest and transparent about the capabilities of the models we develop and the challenges we encounter during their development.

We treat our clients’ data security and confidentiality with the same rigor as our own. If malfunctions are detected despite our efforts, we take the quickest steps to inform stakeholders and correct the situation.

We are mindful of the direct and indirect social impact of our activities and raise awareness among our clients about these issues. We are aware of the potential biases that models can introduce or perpetuate (ethnic, gender, religion, disabilities, atypical profiles...) and we constantly strive to avoid creating or intensifying biases. We are also aware of the ecological footprint that AI can have, and we make every effort to limit or adapt it to the challenges. We work on projects that align with our values.

André Petitclerc is well-known among key players in the information and communications technology industry in Quebec. Over his thirty years of experience in financial management, he has specialized in growth capital, portfolio management, and business development for technology companies. He currently serves as an investment advisor in information technology at Investissement Québec and sits on several boards of directors.

Levasseur

Claude Levasseur has over 35 years of experience in strategic consulting, business management, and project management. As a leader, he notably founded and led the company PROSIG Informatique, served as Executive Vice-President at EDS, and held positions as Senior Vice-President and then President of R3D. He has established numerous major partnerships and participated in several acquisitions and integrations of companies. He is recognized for his entrepreneurial spirit, leadership, creativity, and skills as a communicator and negotiator.

Our Commitment to the Autism Cause

Socially engaged on multiple levels, Videns is particularly involved in the cause of autism. In addition to the various volunteer actions of team members, we also put our cutting-edge expertise to work for the cause. Our commitment has resulted in two new innovations aimed at helping people with autism and their families: the development of the Quebec Autism Observatory and the creation of a conversational agent tailored to the communication challenges of people with autism. We work closely with the Quebec Autism Federation, the Université du Québec à Montréal, and AI for Humanity at Mila.
